In this study, the role and clothing composition of the external officers of Pyeongan Gamyeong in the late 18th century were examined using literary data, previous research, and relic data. The study subjects included Gamsa, Junggun, Dosa, Simyak, Geomryul, Gyesa, and Bijang. The Pyeongan Gamsa was in charge of the administrative, judicial, and military affairs of Pyeongan Province, and the Junggun was in charge of the province`s military affairs and public security. The Dosa assisted the Gamsa and took charge of the province on his behalf in the event of the Gamsa's death. Simyak and Geomlyul were dispatched to local areas if they received the second-highest score in Chwijae. Simyak was in charge of information on medicinal ingredients, and Geomryul was the Gamsa`s legal assistant. The Gyesa was an external officer dispatched only to the Pyeongan Gamyong. Although the Simyak, Geomryul, and Gyesa were Murokgwan, they received supplies, wages, and clothing allowance from Gamyeong. The Junggun of Gamyeong wore the dark-colored Cheolrik of the tent prepared outside Bubyeoklu, based on the Ingwe and Jwacha, and the official sitting to the west was presumed to be a Dosa. The officials standing before the Togwan wearing Nokpo on the west side of Yeongwangjeong were supposed to be Simyak, Geomryul, and Gyesa. The Pyeongan-Gamsa wore Okjeongja, Julip, Milhwayeong, indigo Cheolrik, and red Doa, while the Dosa wore Heuklip, blue Cheolrik, and blue Doa. It is believed that Junggun decorated the Mamilip or Jonglip with gold or silver Jeongja and used jade or coral Yeongja. The dark-colored Cheolrik of the Junggun was thought to have been made of Gamdahalsaek Cheolrik, with patterns engraved on the outer fabric. Among the Gamyeong Bijang, the Jeonbae-Bijang had a Heuklip with a Hosu, navy blue Cheolrik, red Doa, and a Donggae, while the Hubae-Bijang had a Heuklip with a Hosu, blue or black Cheolrik, blue Doa, and a Paegeom. The Bijang wearing a Hyeopsu and Jeonbok had a Heuklip with a Hosu, a black or blue Jeonbok was worn over the Hyeopsu, and a blue Doa or black Sejodae was worn around the waist. The Bijang of Pyeongan Gamyeong wore a Jeonlyeongpae on his waist.
