출판사 책소개

알라딘제공
Kerr (economics, U. of Saskatchewan, Canada) and Gaisford (economics, U. of Calgary, Canada) present 48 chapters intended to collectively provide an overarching understanding of the economic study of international trade policy. Following introductory materials, chapters discuss types of trade agreements and their rules. The various types of trade policy agreements are then explained. Next comes a series of chapters on contingency and safeguard measures such as anti-dumping and countervailing duties. The coordination of trade policy with domestic policy is then discussed in regards to sanitary, ethical, environmental, and other issues. Connections between trade policy and development is considered in papers exploring import substitution industrialization, export promotion policies, international commodity agreements, and international trade and wages, among other issues. Finally, enforcement and coercion is dealt with in papers discussing dispute settlement under the World Trade Organization, economic sanctions for foreign policy purposes, and trade related aspects of intellectual property.
