본 연구는 국가과학기술문헌센터 건립에 대한 이론적 기반하에 국가과학기술문헌센터의 기능과 역할에 부합한 적정규모의 최적모형을 도출하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 국가과학기술문헌센터의 대표성, 상징성, 다목적성 등의 건립구상을 제시하였으며, 선행연구를 통해 이에 걸맞는 건물의 규모산출 및 최적시설, 최첨단 설비 등의 공간구성프로그램을 제안하였다. 또한 문헌조사를 통한 대안입지 선정 및 입지에 대한 현장조사를 실시하여 최적입지를 제시하였다.

This research aims to find an optimal space program and analysis of optimal land of the national model of the scientific and technical information center. And the objective of this study is to contribute to strengthen the need of the building of information center and provide operation programs and vision toward information center which will be established later. We suggested a basic plan of scale and space program for proper space uses and optimal facilities and state-of-the-art equipment of building. Also, we selected alternative land by document study, and suggested optimal land by field works and studies.
