This survey was carried out to obtain the information to the actual conditions and problems of environmental friendly agriculture for the sustainable development of it. A personal interview on 126 farmers engaged in environmental friendly agriculture were conducted in Asan province as the chief place of it from June 2007 to September 2007. The results were summarized as follows ;
92.1% of the respondents age was 40~59 years old, and 39.7% of environmental friendly agriculture career was 7~9 years. To the cases of main crop were apple, pear, rice and tomato, the cultivated area of environmental friendly agriculture were 6,456±2,494 pyung(21,305±8,230㎡), 5,580±3,140 pyung(18,414±10,362㎡), 5,137±3,661 pyung(16,952±12,081㎡) and 2,453±1.542 pyung(8,095±5,089㎡) respectively. The quality-certificated institutions to environmental friendly agriculture products were National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service 82.1% and Heuksalim 17.9%. The motives of environmental friendly agriculture conducting were after education to environmental friendly agriculture 35.1% and seem to be more income 28.1%. Marketing places which sending out environmental friendly agriculture products were agriculture products wholesale market 56.1%, environmental friendly agriculture corporation 49.1%, direct transaction 36.8% and large supermarket 26.3%. The shipment ratios of environmental friendly agriculture products depending on market places were environmental friendly agriculture corporation 72.7±28.1%, large supermarket 58.3±37.3%, agriculture products wholesale market 55.8±30.5% and direct transaction 29.5±24.4%. The number of marketing place were two 49.1%, one 35.1% and over three 15.8%. The places which buying the environmental friendly agriculture materials were environmental friendly agriculture corporation 53.4%, homemade products 34.5%, agricultural chemicals store 25.9% and agricultural & horticultural cooperative 13.8%. The most hard to works among the environmental friendly agriculture operations were insect control 42.4%, disease control 37.3% and weed control 30.5%, and those among agriculture management were hardness to products sale 40.4% and increasement of production cost 35.1%. Problems which conducting the environmental friendly agriculture were high price to buy environmental friendly agriculture materials 50.0%, doubt and low confidence to environmental friendly agriculture materials 42.6%. Places which gain the environmental friendly agriculture technique were agriculture technique center 51.1% and environmental friendly agriculture corporation 42.9%. The plans which promote consumption to environmental friendly agriculture products were the information strength to consumer 61.2% and the diversification of marketing place 38.8%. The future plans to conducting environmental friendly agriculture were maintain the present area 77.2% and enlarge a cultivated area 19.3%.
