In the most of middle schools in our country, it is the real ,condition that in case of academic school career education program tends to make the students simply apply for the university according to their school record, that is to say, to their makes of the national scholastic achievement examination or academic reports, on the other hand, in case of technical school career education program marks regardless of their own ability and aptitude. Especially, the level of middle school's academic achievements of most technical high school students can not be the level of enabling to understand their major fields. Therefore, career education program isn't almost performed considering these student's level and ability, and all sorts of conditions
This study intends to provide present technical middle school students with the opportunity of rearranging their own thoughts about selected the course that they selected already and then establishing the course with more mature attitude accordinf to the better conditions, and to deal with the effects related to student's career maturity and self-concept.
The purpose of this study is to investigate how the commitment of career education program in order to counsel more effetively technical middle school students will effect on students' career maturity and self-concept
To perform this study, one-group pretest -post test design was used, and the result settled by statistical method can be summarized as followings.
First, after participating in career group counseling, experiment group showed the meaningful difference from before in the part of attitude and ability of the career maturity compared with control group. Second, after participating in career group counseling, experiment group's self-respect increased significantly compered with control group.
Although there are many critical points, according to these results, career education program performed in this study was suitable for the aim of the career eduction program in middle school, built up many affirmative changes to students' self-concept, and was so much helpful for the maturity of the career consciousness that students can make the width and depth of undersanding about their own path in life widen and deepen.
