In this study, the structural analysis and optimal design of Maritime Structural Outfits(Universal Fairleader) output force are applied. A purpose of this study is to look into a structural safety and then to search for the topological optimized conceptual design of Universal Fairleader which satisfies both a sufficient stiffness and lightweight structure. Finally optimized shape based on optimal design is suggested by comparing a initial model with a topologically optimized model. A homogenization method for topology optimization technique is used to define a conceptual design of the component.
CATIA program is used for 3D shape modeling and HyperMesh is used for Pre-processing to generate mesh. Finite element analysis of the initial model is performed using a commercial FEM code, ABAQUS/Standard and OPTISTRUCT is used for topology optimization.
The validity of the suggested model is determined by comparing FEM analysis result of the initial model with the topologically optimized model.
