The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationship between the type of leadership and organizational performance such as the job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and the turnover intention in the banking industry. As a leadership type, this paper considers both the transformation leadership and transactional leadership.
In order to study the subject, this paper uses the survey data targeting the bankers in a particular local bank. Then based on the data, this paper excercises the regression analysis using the organizational performance as independent variable and the leadership type as a explanatory variables.
The analysis on the relationship organizational performance and demographic variables can be summarized as follows. First, job satisfaction and organizational commitment of bankers in head office is lower than those of branch office's bankers, while the turnover intention is lower than those of branch office's bankers. Second, the higher the period of working and the occupation are, the higher the job satisfaction and organizational commitment are, while the higher the period of working and the occupation are, the lower the turnover intention is. Third, the job satisfaction and organizational commitment in the men personnel is higher than those of the women personnel, while the turnover intention in the women personnel is lowers than those of the men personnel.
