This study analyzed educational efficiencies of architectural drawings and presentations through BIM (Building Information Modelling) tool, AEC CAD tool, freehand sketching.
Evaluation factors are presentability, correctional ability, connectivity, legibility, finishing time, and the capacity of data files. In detail evaluation factors, presentability is divided into object presentation and figures presentation, correctional ability into object, group, and figures correction, connectivity into elevation connection with floor, section connection with floor, and perspective connection with floor. And legibility is divided into conditional understanding and structural understanding.
These six factors are analyzed into 5-point scale questionnaire interviewed in person after students make drawing rendering.
With the result of this study, BIM tool is better to make drawings and to present architectural idea than existing AEC CAD tool, and will helpful to develop design abilities as an CAD educational method. BIM drawing education requires on education of tool usage and needs more concrete knowledge about the architecture and the profession.
