The Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) is regarded as a realistic alternative to the sustainable urban development. The purpose of this study is to suggest the strategies for TOD type urban development in Jinju City. For the transit mode to induce the TOD in Jinju City, the new tram which operates in Strasbroug, France is recommended. After providing the new tram which can divert travellers from automobiles to transit, following strategies are suggested to change the urban structure of Jinju City to the transit-oriented structure. The first is the mixed land use strategy, which can satisfy large part of ordinary travel demand by only the green mode transportation like walking or cycling with locating other land uses next to house. The second strategy is the construction of transit-oriented living zone, which expedites the use of the green mode transportation by implementing the eco-friendly urban design around the transit stop. The third is the car-use discourage strategy, which discourage car-use by restricting parking space and arterial streets to the transit stop.
