A study on the vegetation and flora structure of five wetland in the Jirisan National Park. This study was carried out to examine flora and vegetation structure in five wetlands(Seseok, Wangdeungjai, Oegok, Junglyeongchi, Deokpyeongbong) in the Jirisan National Park. The floras were 33 families, 49 genus, 48 species and 17 varieties (total 65) in Seseok wetland, 40 families, 75 genus, 75 species, 25 varieties (total 102), 41 families, 73 genus, 69 species, 18 varieties (total 87) in Junglyeongchi wetland. The total floras of five wetlands were 62 families, 133 genus, 148 species, 36 varieties and 2 forma (total 186).
The common species was Astilbe chinensis var. davidii, Angelica decursiva, Plantago asiatica, Solidago virga-aurea var. asiatica, Arundinella hirta, Juncus effusus var. decipiens in herbaceous plants, and Salix gracilistyla, Tripterygium regelii, Rhododendron schlippenbachi, Weigela subsessilis in woody plants. The Seseok wetland might be processed toward a land because the Seseok wetland was located in roads under Chosdaebong between the Seseok shelter house and the Cheonwangbong.
Trees such as Abies koreana, Picea jezoensis, Weigela florida and Salix gracilistyla were expanded around the wetland. The Wangdeungjai wetland was severely disturbed by animal and human beings. The Deokpyeongbong wetland was rapidly proceeded toward a land. The Oegok wetland has a channel in the center and Phragmites japonica, Miscanthus sinensis var. purpurascens, Fraxinus rhynchophylla, Symplocos chinensis for. pilosa, Weigela subsessilis, were dominant.
The Junglyeongchi wetland closed to a regional road could be sensible to artificial disturbance and introduction of non-native species. The flower of Persicaria thunbergii was a white color. Pteridium aquilinum var. latiusculum, Tripterygium regelii, Salix hulteni, Astilbe chinensis var. davidii, Rhododendron schlippenbachii, Artemisia princeps var. orientalis have been expanding in five wetlands due to a long drought season. The permanent monitoring plot will be needed to ascertain the flora of wetland.
