This study is conducted to suggest a speaking·writing integrated teaching-learning method through small group cooperative learning with a focus on the unit 〈Discuss to Prepare Contents〉 in 『Practical Korean』 the first-semester textbook of the second grade of middle school. To cultivate learners' verbal ability, the following points need to be considered; there are many common things between verbal functions, verbal functions are complementary, the verbal functions are cooperated in case of the use of the actual language, verbal education should be made in the situation, and the burden of learning can be reduced by integrating a financial aspect of a class.
First, this study examined whether this unit consists of proper contents according to characteristics of learning activities, supplementary·intensified activities of each small unit. Here, there are problems in the integration between fields, the amount of learning activities, the level of difficulty in learning activities, and the discussion learning.
Considering such problems comprehensively, the solution is a speaking - writing integrated teaching-learning method through small group cooperative learning. This is applied and modified to the unit 〈Discuss to Prepare Contents〉 in 『Practical Korean』 the first-semester textbook of the second grade of middle school.
In short, the teaching-learning process is carried out through the group formation stage, the effect stage, the systematization stage, and the activation stage. This was prepared by considering learning inside and outside situations like learners and learners as well as teachers and learners.
Korean Language education reflects the changing era and demands of real education to prepare education contents, which is realized through Korean Language subject However, this study has found out that education contents of Korean language curriculum are not properly suggested in a Korean language textbook. Therefore, a speaking·writing integrated teaching -learning method through small group cooperative learning is expected to suggest a new direction for the development of textbooks because not only expression areas including speaking and writing but also language education should be integrated. Hopefully, listening, speaking, reading, and writing learning of Korean Language subject will be integrated in the actual situation.
