Ethical management for the comparativeness of the enterprise and sustainable development of the business activities of companies has been emerging as a key element. And there are a lot of related research has been actively performed.
This study shows the understanding of the importance of ethical management in social welfare institutions. And this study is designed to find out the effect of ethical management on organizational trust, organizational citizenship behavior (altruism, conscientiousness, conscientiousness, courtesy and civic virtue), and customer orientation in social welfare institutions. To achieve the purpose, a quantitative research method was employed using a set of structured questionnaire. The total 639 responses were used for the analysis.
The major findings are as follows :
First, the each level of ethical management, organizational trust, organizational citizenship behavior and customer orientation in social welfare institutions turned out to be 3.26(of a total score of 4.00), 3.03(of a total score of 4.00), 4,84(of a total score of 6.00) and 4.89(of a total score of 6.00) each.
Second, ethical management has a positive influence on the levels of organizational trust, organizational citizenship behavior and customer orientation.
Third, when looked at by sub—component of ethical management,
1) Agency's ethical principles and strategies has a positive influence on the levels of organizational trust and organizational citizenship behavior but no influence on customer orientation. When looked at by sub—component of organizational citizenship behavior, Agency's ethical principles and strategies has a positive influence on the levels of conscientiousness only.
2) Agency's ethical infrastructure has a positive influence on the levels of organizational trust and customer orientation but no influence on the levels of organizational citizenship behavior. When looked at by sub—component of organizational citizenship behavior, Agency's ethical infrastructure has a positive influence on the levels of altruism and civic virtue.
3) Agency's user rights has a positive influence on the levels of organizational trust but no influence on the levels of organizational citizenship behavior (altruism, conscientiousness, conscientiousness, courtesy and civic virtue) and customer orientation.
4) An individual's ethical behavior has a positive influence on the levels of organizational trust, organizational citizenship behavior (altruism, conscientiousness, conscientiousness, courtesy and civic virtue) and customer orientation.
5) Ethics expected settlement has a positive influence on the levels of organizational trust, organizational citizenship behavior, and customer orientation. When looked at by sub-component of organizational citizenship behavior, Agency's ethical infrastructure has a positive influence on the levels of altruism and civic virtue.
The results of this study would help social welfare institutions improving and developing the important detailed elements for actual practice of ethical management.
In future research, this study needs to find how the addition of more detailed elements embody ethical management in social welfare institution and focus on identifying the relationship between various organizations and variables.
