Regarding Korean subject education, 「Grammar」 can be said as a necessary subject because it relates to all South Korean areas such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, and literature, but it was a boring and difficult subject to students that its choice was of little importance, compared to other areas. Therefore, since 2009 Revised Curriculum, 「Grammar」 was reconstructed as 「Reading and Grammar」 by integrating elective subjects into areas, and a textbook of 「Grammar」 was compiled as 「Reading and Grammar」 according to curriculum.
This research examines grammar area of 2009 revised high school Korean subject educational curriculum, and among textbooks of 「Reading and Grammar I」 compiled according to that, a comparative analysis is conducted by dividing currently compiled four types of textbooks that revolve around grammar area s syntax unit into formal aspect and content aspect. With regard to formal aspect, curriculum's connectivity is checked through the table of contents and learning objectives, and whether a textbook is composed according to teaching and learning stages by reflecting curriculum's details is searched. Regarding content aspect, how syntax unit defined constituents of sentence, sentence types, and grammatical category according to curriculum's details is checked, and a comparative analysis is conducted to know how each textbook expressed learning content.
As a result of a comparative analysis, I could know that there were slight differences about syntax description by text, and I could grasp each publishing company's pros and cons by conducting a comparative analysis of syntax unit of four textbooks of 「Reading and Grammar」 compiled according to 2009 Revised Curriculum, thinking of the importance of grammar education. Through this research, I hope that grammar education will be vitalized and that this research will become necessary data for systematic practical syntax class in teaching and learning syntax content in the field of class by utilizing each text's pros and cons and that this research will be effectively helpful for learners' real language life.
