This study explains how a flower is used and composed in the paintings of court banquets and whether a thing appeared in 〈Bongsudangjinchando〉 of 《Hwaseongwonhaengdobyeong》 is a column decoration or a floor and what an illustration is drawn in 〈Bongsudangjinchando〉 of 《Hwaseongwonhaengdobyeong》 quoted by predecessors and how they are different.
《Hwaseongwonhaengdobyeong》 was painted by King Jeongio, which represents eight episodes about the fact that he accompanied Hyegyeonggung Hong, his mother to Hyeonryungwon, the grave of Crown Prince Sado, his father in Hwaseong from Feb. 2nd to 9th of the lunar year in 1795, Jeongjo 19th Year.
Result 1 : 《Hwaseongwonhaengdobyeong》 is perfectly stored with all 8 folding screens apiece in the National Museum of Korea, the National Palace Museum of Korea, Leeum Museum of Art and Uhak Cultural Foundation and several pieces are also stored in Museum of Dongguk University and so on.
Result 2 : 〈What the left side is different from the right on 〈Bongsudangjinchando〉 indicates that the King's chair on the left is correct from the location of the real building. Yet the King's chair is on the right due to the painter's mistake on the painting stored to the National Palace Museum of Korea. The painting stored to he National Palace Museum of Korea was copied after age and turned over to confuse in spite of relatively distinctness.
Result 3 : The order for arrangement of 《Hwaseongwonhaengdobyeong》 was different from copies, but there are a lot of pictures whose order for arrangement is different because the opening was launched several times. The copy of the National Museum of Korea was displayed in 19 93 and the one of the National Palace Museum of Korea changed its order when it was renovated in 2000.
This is why the different orders between 'the Order of the Event of Hwaseongwonhaeng' and 『WonhaengeulmyoJeongrieuigwae』 and the two orders was attempted to be fixed. The remaining is not matched to them at all. The order before the opening was the same as 『WonhaengeulmyoJeongrieuigwae』 and organized by King Jeongjo.
Result 4 : There are bundles for a flower decorated on the column in 〈Bongsudangjinchando〉 of 《Hwaseongwonhaengdobyeong》. 〈Bongsuda ngjinchando〉 has two-layered bouquets tied by white or red strings on the upper and lower sides of both columns. The same is true of 〈Bong sudangjinchando〉 of 『WonhaengeulmyoJeongrieuigwae』. Yet there are two shelves for a flowerpot decorated on the floor in 〈Bongsudangjinchando〉 of 『Wonhaengjeongrieuigwaedo』. 『Wonhaengjeongrieuigwaedo』 is likely to be incorrect in the process of copying because it was copied after age.
Result 5 : A shape for artificial flowers of 「Chaehwado」 on 『Wonhae ngeulmyojeongrieuigwae』 and 『Wonhaengjeongrieuigwaedo』 is a very rich and magnificent circle. On 〈Bongsudangjinchando〉 of 《Hwaseongwo nhaengdobyeong》 there are a pair of artificial flowers with a linear shape, which is called 'Iljihwa'. Unlike luxurious artificial flowers which were often used for a royal banquet they seemed not to be luxurious but to be simple in a real event.
Result 6 : Chaehwa (Artificial flower) used for a royal banquet were put into a pot with a drawing of a flower in order to decorate a place for a ceremony and presented to the King or the Queen and then given back to many vassals. An action to present a flower is a token of biggest respect to a target person and a flower symbolizes a significant meaning of the respect.
Every person participated in the banquet decorated their head with artificial flowers and on a table with dishes there were a lot of flowers.
