The purpose of this study is to identify the sub-factors of time management ability of hair designers and to verify the effect of time management ability on their job performance.
First, time awareness and time management behavior were examined through theoretical studies. Time management ability was divided into time recognition, time management behavior, and time management satisfaction.
Time management behaviors were divided into goals, plans, priorities, practice, evaluation, and re-reflection.
For the empirical analysis, the validity and reliability analysis of the variables set in this study and the correlation analysis were conducted to establish the basis of the hypothesis testing. The results of the study can be summarized as follows. First, time recognition has a positive effect on time management behavior. Second, time management behaviors have a positive effect on time management satisfaction, and total time management ability has a positive effect on performance and job satisfaction.
The implications of these findings are as follows. First, the higher the time perception, the more time management behaviors. This means that awareness of the importance of time management can lead to time management behavior. Second, the higher the time management ability, the higher the performance. It implies that performance and time management are related to each other. Third, the higher the time management ability, the higher the job satisfaction. It indicates that time management is a critical factor to enhance their job performance as well as their financial performance and efficient time management has a positive effect on both their performance and job satisfaction.
In conclusion, some suggestions for improvement of time management ability of hair designers were presented based on empirical analysis results.
