This research is to find an activation plan by a comparative study on foreign shores to attract foreign patients. The purpose of this research is for a progressive restructure to attract foreign patients by the comparison of foreign shores. In the pursuit of this purpose, we have to investigate the concept, background and the history of the attraction for foreign patients and attraction for foreign patients and analyze the factor of attracting foreign patients to solve the problem. The research on the actual condition of the medical tourism in developed countries by comparative analysis between foreign countries to seek the way to attract foreign patients.
The summarization of the research is like the following.
First, individual legislation is needed for a progressive restructure to attract foreign patients. Legislation is needed for an actual condition of the medical tourism by reducing damage from illegal brokers which is the biggest problem in Korean medical tourism and by expanding the permissible range of medical advertizing.
Second, there is a need for sustained government support. In India, compared to Korea, The government's aggressive support policy shows that foreign patients are actively attracting.
Third, hospitals also need to hire foreign workers to attract foreign patients and to take medical tourism. In Korea, specialized human resources are urgently promoted because of difficulties attracting foreign patients due to the lack of professional and systematic human resources.
Fourth, we need a marketing strategy. Internal strengths and weaknesses in the marketing environment, opportunities and threats in the external environment should be identified and a marketing strategy is required to establish systematic services for foreign patients.
