The government focuses on promoting start-ups, fostering ventures, and creating an ecosystem of start-ups through the formation of a strong growth environment for small businesses. They also support diverse policies for supporting small businesses to stimulate the economy and create jobs.
Despite these various start-up policies and support, the process of starting a business is prone to have trouble operating and to fail. To solve this problem, business incubation centers nationwide assists to achieve outcome and reduce the possibility of failure.
This study provides academic and practical implications about ways of improving our business incubator's support service across stages of growth through IPA.
To this end, an Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) was conducted to analyze relationship and differences in importance and satisfaction of business incubator's support service support at business incubation center.
The result of this study is as follows.
First, the results of a survey on the significance of importance-achievement for business incubator's support service of the firms that are occupied in the business incubation center is as follows.
According to report, business incubator's support service is 13 of 22, Start-up phase is 10 of 22, Technology development phase is 10 of 22, Commodification phase is 14 of 22, Stage of commercialization is 17 of 22. Second, as an IPA result, as an IPA result for business incubator's support service is as follows. Reinforcement of maintenance(9), rejection to excessive efforts(5), low priority(5).

These results present to provide the following academic and practical implications.
The academic implications are the need for differences in support services for each phase of start-up growth. As factors that could increase the likelihood of successful start-up were identified in each phase of the start-up growth, important information needed for policy and strategy was provided.
As a practical suggestion, the managers and expert groups are presented with sections to be opened for each start-up growth stage, minimum effort input, and areas to be maintained continuously.
A systematic support plan is established and a foundation is provided for improvement measures in efficient start-up business incubator's support service.
