This study is to figure out the bond mineral density of the patients with agent orange and to confirm the influences of general characteristics and lifestyles on their bone mineral density, and we studied 60 patients who visited a general hospital in Daejeon.
The main results of this study are as follows.
First, the higher body mass index was, the higher bone mineral density value was, and there were statistically significant results in T-score of lumbar spine and femoral neck.
Second, both of smoking and drinking alcohol had statistically significant results in T-scores of lumbar spine.
Third, there were statistically significant differences in T-score of lumbar spine and femoral neck according to regular exercise.
Four, caffeine intake, dairy intake, moderate intensity physical activity, regular eating habit, appetite, stress, sleep quality and sleeping hours were not statistically significant.
In conclusion, proper increase of body fat, maintenance of proper weight, quitting smoking and drinking alcohol, and regular exercise will be effective mesure to prevent the osteoporosis of patients with agent orange.
