This research paper is a study on the teaching guidance for promoting multicultural sensibility through cooking of elementary school students. I organized a class guide plan to promote multiculturalism among students by using cooking in class. Considering the current situation in which multicultural education is not organized as a regular course in the elementary school curriculum and is being used as an auxiliary material, we wanted to study teaching plans to promote multicultural sensitivity. Cooking is enough class subject to give all students curiosity and attention, and it made students realize that culture is naturally shared with each other and recreated in it by learning about each country's food culture through food and looking at the similarities and differences. It was designed to recognize the characteristics of food culture in each country and to make food that was representative of that country. They also learned about the attitude and manners of cooking and sharing their feelings while making their own food. In addition, in order to enhance the sensitivity of multiculturalism, the students were provided with knowledge and image materials and videos to help them understand the food culture of the country, and they were allowed to organize themselves in the middle of the class and after the class was over. So far, classes using cooking have ended simply with an event to make and experience food, but the class guidance presented in this research paper has connected multicultural elements that have been involved in cooking, attracting students' curiosity and interest, and recognizing that culture is shared. Also, it provided an opportunity to look around multicultural neighbors and friends. Through cooking, I prepared an opportunity to look at my culture from the perspective of others, so that I could develop a perspective of relative culture. Understanding, respecting and embracing each other's differences is the key goal of multicultural education, and the higher the understanding of other cultures, the greater the sensitivity of multiculturalism will be. If multicultural sensitivity is enhanced, it will take a step closer to creating an ideal multicultural society. It is hoped that the teaching guidelines for promoting multicultural sensitivity through cooking of elementary school students will be studied in the future and actively used in elementary school education sites.
