This thesis shows basic researches on ways to increase observer's visibility on the wing bridge of the ship. When performing observational mission on the wing bridge, the wind blows so directly that it is exposed to all.
There is a shape that has a structure that can change the direction of the wind and facilitate the mission of observation by securing visibility in the general adult's viewing position. That is called 'wind deflector' Although this wind deflector is an important structure installed on most ships, research was conducted to acquire basic data because of insufficient research.
Front plate and back plate were designated as doubleness wind deflector, and the angle of the upper end of the back plate was changed by 15˚, and the total of four models were measured and considered by speed distribution data using PIV technology.
As a result, in the case of 45˚, upper passage that fluid could flow became narrow rapidly, so the effect of wind deflector was offset. On the other hand, from 15˚ to 30˚ could be found to increase the visibility of the observer.
