Due to the development of the Internet and social media, various types of public information on the surface web are increasing rapidly. The OSINT(Open Source Intelligence) may be used for criminal investigation using a profiling technique. These technologies have become quite common in foreign investigation agencies such as in the United States, but they are not yet widely used in Korea and also differ greatly in the quantity and quality of the information obtained, which is collected from the personal experience and knowledge level of investigative personnel.
In this paper, existing cases using OSINT were analyzed, and through this, a method of collecting and organizing profiles for individuals and companies according to the Korean situation was proposed in the form of a workflow. In particular, in the case of individuals, a workflow for creating personal profiles by analyzing images collected on social media was presented together. In the case of image-targeting workflows, the paper proposes the method of dividing the workflows into manual workflows and some automated workflows that contain the process of preprocessing using artificial intelligence models. In addition, a database schema capable of storing and managing the collected information was designed in the form of NoSQL. Through this paper, not only can the risk of personal information exposure in the image can be alerted, but it can also contribute to the performance of prosecution affairs such as identifying the suspect's behavior and verifying the alibi using OSINT.
