Background: The purpose of this study was to provide basic data on hepatitis B infection control in the community through the results of the hepatitis B surface antigen and antibody tests conducted in a one Health Medical Center.
Methods: From 2012 to 2020, It was retrospectively analyzed the HBsAg, HBsAb, HBeAg, HBeAb, and HBV DNA results of 7,329 hepatitis B-related testers.
Results: Among 7,329 subjects, the positive rate of HBsAg was 1.7%. The positive rate according to age was the highest at 4.4% in their 30s, and followed 4.2% in their 40s, 4.1% in their 50s, 2.0% in their 60s, 1.9% in their 70s and older, and 0.3% in their 10s and younger.
The positive rate of HBsAb was 43.1%, 38.2% for men, and 46.7% for women (p〈0.001). The positive rate according to age was the lowest at 25.3% in their teens and younger, and followed 37.9% in their 20s, 49.1% in their 70s and older, 51.4% in their 40s, 56.1% in their 60s, 57.8% in their 50s, and 59.3% in their 30s (p〈0.001).
Conclusions: Summarizing the above results, for infection control of hepatitis B in a one county, Taking care of persons with Hepatitis B is required for those in their 30s and older, and efforts to acquire immunity are necessary for those in their 20s and younger.
