Background : This study was conducted to investigate the effect of changes in the COVID-19 social distancing policy on changes in the number of confirmed patients.
Research tools : A disconnected interrupted time series was conducted using raw data from the status of confirmed patients by region in Korea (2022) reported to the integrated disease and health management system of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Results : the number of confirmed cases increased overall during the analysis period, and the number of confirmed cases increased noticeably after the Delta variant became dominant, and the long-term effect of the policy confirmed through time-series analysis was insignificant as there was no significant change in the slope before and after policy intervention.
Conculsion : There is a need for the cause of the surge in the number of infected people in Korea.
