In this study, in order to investigate the effect of hip strengthening exercises on the development of core muscles and the improvement of pain levels in patients with lumbar pain, 8-angle core muscles were measured as core muscles and the NRS pain scale was measured as pain levels. Changes and differences were compared for each factor and period, and the correlation between core muscles and pain levels during the same period was analyzed. Based on the results of the study, the following conclusions are drawn.
Results
A. Changes in core muscles
1. Changes in core muscles by time
In the exercise group, all 8 angles increased, showing a significant change, and in the control group, a significant level of change showed a decrease in 0°, 45°, 135°, 180°, 225°, 270°, 315°. and no significant change was observed at 90°.
2. Differences in core muscles by group
In the pre-period, there was no significant difference in all 8 angles, and in the post-period, the exercise group showed a higher significant difference than the control group in all 8 angles.
B. Changes in pain level
1. Changes in pain level by time
The exercise group showed a significant decrease in NRS, and the control group showed a significant increase.
2. Differences in pain level by group
There was no significant difference in the pre-period, and in the post-period, the exercise group showed a significantly lower difference than the control group.
C. Developmental effect of core muscles
In all 8angles, a significant level of interaction effect was shown in time, time*group, and group.
D. Effect of improving pain level
A significant level of interaction effect was found in time, time*group, and group.
E. Correlation between core muscles and pain level
There was a significant level of correlation between core muscle and pain levels before and after.
Therefore, it was found that hip strengthening exercise has a positive effect on core muscle development, and that core muscle development has a causal relationship with lumbar pain improvement according to the correlation between core muscle and pain level. In addition, it is judged that hip strengthening exercise can be presented as an exercise treatment program that is expected to be useful and effective as an exercise to improve the pain level of spinal diseases accompanied by lumbar pain.
