This thesis analyzed Luke 11:1-13 using an interpretation methodology as the main research subject. I researched the object of prayer, the content of prayer, and attitude of prayer which are thaught by Jesus and interpreted the theological meaning of the Kingdom of God, which is the core of Luke's prayer. The main purpose of writing the thesis is to increase awareness and understanding of the 'kingdom of God' by studying the meaning of the Lord's Prayer and the 'kingdom of God' in his prayer.
The research methodology consisted of grammatical analysis, word analysis, historical and cultural analysis of the text, analysis of the context and structure of the text, and the history of the Lord's prayer and the kingdom of God. After this study, the main part of the study, the study of the text between the New Testament, the text between the Old Testament, and the prayer case of the Old Testament was studied. And theological research on the Lord's Prayer and the kingdom of God, which are the core of the study, was conducted, and practical tasks for the church implied in prayer were proposed.
I did a study on the textuality of the New Testament and the Old Testament regarding the 'kingdom of God' in the Lord's Prayer. The 'textuality within the book' of the Prayer Parables 11:5-8 and 18:1-8 in Luke's Gospel was studied, and the 'textuality between the books' was analyzed expansively in relation to Matthew 6:9-13; 7:7-11. The teachings of Luke 11:1-13 and Ephesians 1:15-23 were compared on prayer and the kingdom of God, and the text of Luke's Lord's Prayer and Ephesians 1:15-23 and inter-book textuality studies were conducted.
This study was conducted using the methodology set by the author of the thesis. I expected the Interpretation research between texts helps understand prayer and 'God's kingdom' and live a life. The Gospel of Luke and Daniel 7:13-14 about the kingdom and the text of the Gospel of Luke and Daniel of the Old Testament were studied through the study of 'inter-book textuality'. The 'kingdom of God' in the Lord's Prayer in both Luke and Matthew was interpreted the 'kingdom' of Daniel 7:14 as an echo. The parable of prayer in Luke 11:50-13 and the answer to prayer in the Old Testament were studied in connection with the prayer of answer in Joshua 10:12-14, the answer to Jabez's prayer in 1 Chronicles 4:10, and the words and answers in Isaiah 55:3-7.
The results of this study on the kingdom of God in the Lord's Prayer are as follows. The Lord's Prayer is a prayer with the presence of the kingdom of God at its core. The advent of God's kingdom on this earth is God's will. The kingdom of God is accomplished through the people of the kingdom of God. God wants the kingdom of God to come through the prayers of His people. God wants the people of the kingdom to obey and be together according to the principle of creation, and he saves his people from their sins.
The characteristic of the Lord's prayer is that the object of prayer is God. God, the object of prayer, wants your name to be considered holy. At the same time, God's people, i.e. the prayers, also want to be holy. In the Lord's prayer, the people of God's kingdom are saved. It contains prayers for the expansion of these saved people. The Kingdom of God prays for the coming and completion of the Kingdom of God through eschatological prayer. He taught the kingdom of God to the disciples, and also includes prayers about discipleship that reveal the identity of the disciples.
The 'kingdom of God' in the Lord's prayer is accomplished through the church. Prayers receive the Holy Spirit, and the church in which the Holy Spirit dwells preaches and testifies of the "kingdom of God."
It is a prayer that contains the ability of the main character to overcome the hardships of this age with the Lord's prayer.
The Lord's prayer is the core theme of 'kingdom of God'. This 'kingdom of God' is a community of family relationships. The characteristic of the Lord's prayer is that it is a prayer that establishes the 'kingdom of God', and with this prayer Satan is cast away, and it is also a prayer that saves God's people. This prayer is an eschatological prayer, and it is a discipleship prayer that disciples should do. However, through this prayer, we obtain the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit forms the church community. The 'kingdom of God' is that the gospel is preached and expanded through the church, and God's will is fulfilled on this earth. 'kingdom of God' is achieved by God, but God wants his people to achieve the kingdom of God through the church on this earth. Therefore, it was interpreted that the center of the Lord's prayer is the church in which the Holy Spirit dwells to build the kingdom of God. The center of the theological interpretation of the Lord's Prayer and the kingdom of God is that we, believers ourselves must become a church in which the Holy Spirit dwells, and at the same time, I interpret it as a prayer that contains God's will to achieve the kingdom of God through the church community.
For Korean church nowadays, based on the interpretation of the main text, we proposed a practical task to properly teach the Lord's Prayer and to know the presence of the 'kingdom of God' in the Lord's Prayer. The Lord's Prayer and solving social problems looked at social problems in the 1st century, found social problems in the Lord's Prayer, and sought solutions within the Korean church. It was also interpreted that there is a meaning of 'Jubilee' in the Lord's Prayer. The contribution of this thesis is the understanding of the prayer contained in the Lord's Prayer and the kingdom of God, and the proposal of practice to live a life worthy of prayer.
The kingdom of God is accomplished through the church. The church is hope of this earth. It was suggested that the church correctly know the theological meaning contained in the Lord's prayer, and suggest practice as the Lord taught.
It is expected that the biblical interpretation methodology set and applied in this thesis will be expanded and applied to have a good influence on the ministry of the Korean church as well as those who will be beneficial in interpreting the Bible.
