Internships have proven to be a win-win situation for all participating parties: student, host company, and university. Internships are one of the most important experiences for a college graduate who wants an important international work experience to secure a job after graduation. An increasing number of employers are using internships as a recruiting tool for employees. Universities see internships as a means of validating and updating their curricula and as a catalyst for placing students after graduation. All point to an escalating importance of internships. This study introduces the Overseas Internship Experience, a program designed for undergraduate students who wish to have an overseas work experience. The development and administration of the program are discussed. The advantages of the overseas internship experience are discussed from the student's perspective. Disadvantages and criticisms of the program are also discussed.
