The aim of this study is to measure the relative efficiency of Credit Cooperatives in
Jeollabuk-Do using Data Envelopment Analysis(Charmes, Cooper & Rhodes model)
DEA is commonly used to evaluate the efficiency of a number of producers.
In the DEA literature, a producer is usually referred to as a decision making unit or DMU. In the study, the data(for 2004) from 20 credit cooperatives(DMUs) in Jeollabuk-Do was used.
Conclusionally, this study shows that DEA is a powerful and useful management tool, especially in reallocating resources among the DMUs, when it is used together with financial ratio analysis or index method.
