The purpose of my recent researches is to draw the topographical map of the literary criticism in the latter of 1930's. For this, in this paper I tried reconstructing the contexts of INMUNPYEONGRON. And I recovered the three contexts of INMUNPYEONGRON, and named each context ‘the outside’, ‘the inside’ and ‘the inside of the inside.’A) ‘the outside’ : ‘the outside’ had two dimensions, the one is a dominant ideology and the other is ‘non-literary’ literature. The former is, needless to say, the imperialism and the policies of Japan. Reading the preface of INMUNPYEONGRON, the editors and the writers had been trying to observe the policies of Japan, even if it were unable. The latter is a negation and devaluation of the popular literature. B) ‘the inside’ : it is an ensemble of the critical essays, the reviews, and the literary works. C) ‘the inside of the inside’ : it is ‘GURIZIGAL’. ‘GURIZIGAL’ is a meta-criticism. ‘GURIZIGAL’ revealed the weak points of diverse criticisms and the logical inconsistency of the critics. What is more, the critical blade of ‘GURIZIGAL’ was toward the writers of INMUNPYEONGRON. It is the reason that ‘GURIZIGAL’ was named by me ‘the inside of the inside.’ ‘GURIZIGAL’ consistently urged ‘science’, but I could not understand what the science was. Probably the writer of ‘GURIZIGAL’ could not know that.
