This study aims to construct the 'Family Relations Scale(FRS)-Brief Form' and to validate the scale which is called 'Family Relations Scale-15(FRS-15)'. This study is designed to perform factor analyses, reliability test, and a series of validity tests. The data include 401 college students residing in Seoul, Kyunggi, and Choongnam. The results of exploratory and confirmative factor analyses proved that the 'FRS' would be better equipped if it is reconstructed 'FRS-15' with 59.75% of explanatory power. The reconstructed 'FRS-15' is also proved as a valid and reliable scale. Internal consistency test score was Cronbach's alpha .928 which is very high. The tests results for validation on convergent validity, discriminant validity, concurrent validity, and incrimental validity were significantly high enough to be valid. Based on the findings, the 'FRS' was reconstructed and validated to be 'FRS-15' with a high reliability and explanatory power. 'FRS-15' will be a widely utilized scale in the fields of family research.
