The longevity of Kim Jong-Il would be very important issue in terms of North Korea's future and security on the Korean Peninsula. Regarding human (Kim Jong-Il) longevity, this study analyzes four factors as follows: (1) the genetic factor-the longevity of his family; (2) the health factor-exercise, obesity, and diet; (3) the environmental factor-stress or mental damage in his past life; and (4) the outbreak factor-unexpected death, assassination, and a coup, etc. In conclusion, this study assumes that Kim could live more than 80 years old by virtue of national support, such as the Institute of Longevity in Pyongyang, the Security Guard Command, and other support organizations. Nevertheless, in case of his unexpected death without a firm successor, it could cause serious insecurity over the Korean Peninsula.
