The present study purposed to examine the effects of rope jumping and Swiss ball exercise on young children's body composition, growth hormone and for this purpose, we sampled 48 six-year-old children attending D Annexed Kindergarten in B City, divided them into an exercise group (n=24) and a control group (n=24), and applied exercise equivalent to 55~64% HRR during the 1st period (Week 1~4) and exercise equivalent to 65~75% during the 2nd periods (Week 5~12), so a total of 12 weeks, 3 times a week, and 45 minutes per time.
The results of comparative analysis are as follows;
1. Body composition
As to change in body composition within each group, the exercise group showed a significant increase in all variables including height, weight, BMI, lean body mass, fat mass and %fat, but the control group did not show a significant increase in lean body mass. As to the interaction effect between group and period according to factors, a significant difference was observed in lean body mass.
2. GH hormone
There was an interaction effect between group and period according to the factor, showing the effect of exercise.
