This study was carried out to evaluate the effect on soil CO₂ efflux in pine stands damaged by pine wilt disease. We established three severely damaged (SVD) and three slightly damaged (SLD) pine stands by pine wilt disease in Sacheon-si, Gyeongnam Province. Soil CO₂ efflux, soil pH, soil temperature and soil water content were measured for 6 months. Soil CO₂ efflux, soil pH and soil temperature were higher in SVD pine stands than in SLD pine stands, while soil water content was lower in SVD pine stands than in SLD pine stands. The results indicate soil CO₂ efflux was affected by pine wilt disease.
