At present time, it momentously bring into relief how to succeed and develop their traditional culture, such as material and immaterial spiritual properties which has been managed by the countries. It may be important to keep and preserve high add-valuable inheritance of national cultures. But the most important things is the efforts to create new findings and values through the way of application in various fields.
Human culture usually show the habits of decoration and display their own stuff around them. Their habits appeared putting surface or main parts over another supplementally for simple way of care, as well as for care in aspects of function in furniture, house, various household and tools.
As like these, for decorating household and trinkets on their surfaces and a part of them, it is one of tools, wooden platter(목판). In wooden platter, there are some kinds of method to decorate the objects such as Runghawpan능화판 sculpturing patterns on cover page of book, Sijungipan(시전지판) decorating letter papers and collection of poems, Bujuckpan(부적판) printing charms and Ducksalpan(떡살판) decorating on surfaces of rice cakes. Among various types of wooden platters, Runghawpan(능화판) is one of decoration tools for book cover that our ancestor has thought the most valuable things in other things.
The purpose of this study was to find methods through application the patterns of Runghawpan(능화판) to recent textile design fields.
Runghaw pan(능화판) is type of wooden platters carved on wooden board in order to decorate book cover, and It is our own unique cultures not appearing in Japanese and Chinese culture.
Therefore, our study is aiming our attentions to the possibility of re-creating new cultural products through applications of Runghaw(능화) patterns in firstly on textile of necktie products, then also other textiles and general fashion industry fields.
Our study were focusing on design the necktie of textile as main aim through application of these traditional materials positively and effectively. Currently our study has progressed on our designed purposes successfully and begun 9 kinds of new products. We expect our results of study can be a small model to create various styles of cultural products in a future.
