The Sakha shamanism was divided into two different shamanisms, white shamanism and black shamanism. After the collapse of the soviet system the Sakha people wanted a national symbol. As the national symbol a sakha national elite group choose the white shamanism that disappeared about 200 years ago. The black shamanism was maintained very weak till the collapse secretly, but its image was distorted by the socialistic colonialism. It was propagated as the symbol of the darkness.
Although some scholars and shamans, politicians made the white shamanism as the new national symbol, it has not produced the wanted result, because the white shamanism is too far from the everyday life of the Sakha people. The Sakha people was very secularized through the soviet time. Nowadays in the city and village there are only the extrasens who is not a traditional shaman. The extrasens might construct the new sakha shamanism in the future, but it is open. The disenchantment process that was forced by the colonialism and was accepted by the Sakha people, in my point of view, will continue in the Sakha society into the near future, because the Sakha people do want it.
