The purpose of this paper is to describe Mexico's system of legal education. The legal education in Mexico in general refers to the study of the Licenciatura en Derecho and the process for obtaining the license to practice as a lawyer. The study focuses on three issues: (a) the characteristics and structure of Mexico's system of legal education; (b) the content and structure of law programs; (c) the challenges facing Mexican law schools.
