The exercise programs using sensory stimulation were applied to improve the
movement timing control ability of children with cerebral palsy.
The research subjects are 7.0-10.9 aged three elementary school students with
cerebral palsy. This study conducted research baseline, intervention, and
maintenance test by multiple probe baseline design across the participants. The
program was applied to the child from July 2009 to October 2009. Treatment was
implemented 20 minutes per time and 4 times per week. Reaction Time Chrono
scope was analyzed to determine movement timing control ability. The
intervention locations were the T clinic center in Gwangju. To examine the
maintenance effect, 3 follow-up sessions were conducted after 3 weeks.
The results of this research are as follow;
First, the intervention of the exercise programs using sensory stimulation
increased the movement timing control ability of children with cerebral palsy.
Second, even after the intervention, the condition remained in higher
quality than the beginning.
This said that exercise program gave an effects on movement timing control
ability in children with cerebral palsy. Therefore, exercise programs and training
tools should be cerebral palsied children, with more interesting and over more
times.
