Miseci porcelain of Yue kiln developed over hundreds of years and the most remarkable change in that development was in the color of glaze. In other words, by the time Miseci porcelain appeared for the first time around the early 9th century, the color of glaze had a wide range of color spectrum from blue and yellow color appearing yellow to light bluish-green. Such glaze colors of Miseci porcelain became fixed to a solid color party of light bluish-green color during the Five Dynasties Period. And the glaze colors of many general celadon of Yue kiln were also fixed to the solid color party during North Sung Dynasty. Accordingly, it is seen that there was no distinct difference between Miseci porcelain and general celadon in terms of the glaze color. In respect of the color glaze, in short, the development of Miseci porcelain of Yue kiln can be seen as a process that the wide rage of glaze color spectrum from blue and yellow color appearing yellow to light bluish-green color changed to the solid color party of light bluish-green.
Above all, the change in the glaze color of Miseci porcelain is closely related with the development of sagger. That is, the sagger of Miseci porcelain in Yue kiln usually went through the coarse sagger(1st phase), the fine sagger(2nd phase) and the sealed porcelain sagger(3rd phase) and then returned to the coarse sagger(4th phase) again. The glaze color of Miseci porcelain in the first, second and third phases had various glaze colors and the time was almost the Late Tang Dynasty period. Miseci porcelain in both the later 3rd and the 4th phase showed a solid color party of light bluish-green and the time was the Five Dynasties and the North Song Dynasty period.
