The empirical results show that among 9 industry areas only two industries such as manufacturing and financial industries show significant wage differences compared to the wages of average workers in all industry This pattern does not substantially change after controlling for the unmeasured worker characteristics Based on the findings after being separately estimated in terms of firm size and unionization, we cannot find significant pattern of inter-industry wage differentials by those factors This implies that firm size and unionization themselves are not main factors for determining pattern of wage differential among industries but possibly providing some incentives for individuals to choose their jobs according to their skill levels.
