후에 조선성리학 이념이 자리잡아가면서 현창되어 충의라는 시호가 내리고 장릉배식단에 삼중신(三重臣)으로 배향되는 것은 당연한 결과라고 본다.Paekch'on Kim Mun-gi,(白村金文起) born in 1399, lived as subject with devout Neo-Confucian loyalty to three Kings Sejong, Munjong and Danjong, and was executed for plotting to restore King Danjong in the second year of King Sejo's reign. King Sejo's usurp of the throne was deemed as an outrageous destruction of the social ideals realized during the reigns of King Sejong and Munjong, and Paekch'on naturally came to take a lead in restoration of Danjong to the throne. Paekch'on's family was mainly linked as in-laws with two families: first that of Yi Hwa, the Prince Uian (宜安大君), whose family had fifteen killed in Sejo's usurp of the throne; and the family of Hŏ Cho (許稠), the third state councilor (Uŭijŏng) during King Sejong's reign whose grandson was killed for plotting the Danjong restoration. Paekch'on's family also had links with the Sunch'ŏn Pak family of a martyred minister Pak P'aeng-nyŏn (朴彭年), and the Sŏnsan Kim family of Kim Hyo-jŏng (金孝貞) through the family of Paekch'on's wife. The family links also included the family of Mun Ik-jŏm (文益漸). Such interrelation of the families had Paekch'on with intimate association with the loyal subjects from the reigns of the three Kings starting from Sejong. Paekch'on enrolled as a censorate official in King Sejong's reign, a royal secretary and the succeeding provincial governor of the Hamkyŏng after General Kim Chong-sŏ. At King Sejo's dethronement of Danjong in the midst of his thriving political activities, Paekch'on obviously took a lead of the restoration scheme of King Danjong. With continuous settlement of Neo-Confucianism into the Chosŏn society afterwards, Paekch'on's posthumous entitlement as Ch'ungŭi (忠毅, Persevering Loyalty) and his enshrinement as Three Important Subjects (三重臣) of Changnŭng (莊陵), the royal tomb of King Danjong can be said as an unquestionable event.
