이 연구는 PC방을 새로운 공간 혹은 병리적 공간으로 보는 이분법에서 벗어나 네트워크 시대 한국사회의 일상적인 삶 풍경이 구체적으로 드러나는 공간으로 접근한다. 이 연구는 PC방이 어떤 개별의 공간임과 동시에 인터넷 매개의 일상풍경이 드러나는 네트워크화된 공간이라는 차원으로 확장될 수 있음에 주목한다. 이와 관련하여 이 연구는 형이상학적인 공간론에서 벗어나 구체적인 장소에 주목하는 현대 공간성 연구와 함께, 미디어의 확장에 따른 탈장소와 재연결의 차원에 주목하는 연구들을 검토하고 있다. 이를 기반으로 컴퓨터와 인터넷으로 매개된 방들, 즉 PC-방이라는 네트워크화된 공간에서 나타나는 이중적이고 혼성적인 일상풍경을 분석하고 있다.This Paper is a cultural study on 'PC Bangs' as Korean internet cafés. In existing research, PC Bangs are ordinarily considered as liberated or deviant spaces. However this study emphsizes that PC Bangs have a need of being analyzed in connection their everydaylife landscapes. This study approaches that PC Bangs are each spaces at once and can expand into networked places which are 'PC-Bangs'displaying internet-mediated Korean daily landscapes. In relation, this study discusses the present spatial researches which take a interest in concrete places rather than metaphysical spaces and specially pay attention to the dimensions of displacement and reconnection concerned with a new media such as the internet. Then, this study analizes dual and hybrid everydaylife landscapes expressed in PC bangs and the networked places of 'PC-bangs'
