This paper aims to examine temporal-spatial changes of the longevity degree and to analyze the spatial pattern and its characteristics of the long-live community in Seoul. Population data from 2000 to 2010 at the Gu and Dong unit are used to examine the spatial variation of the longevity degree. Also small area statistics such as census output area and EDA(exploring data analysis) method are used to analyze spatial clustering patterns and to extract long-live communities. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, the longevity degree among administrative units (gu and dong) in Seoul showed a significant difference and hot-spot clusters with high degree of longevity showed the spatially dependent and fixed tendency for the last 10 years. Secondly, highly educated oldest-old rich people residing in their own houses with their family are generally concentrated in long-live communities which are selected by the criteria with the longevity degree over 20%. In order to enhance the longevity of the oldest-old people and to construct more healthy longevity culture for selected long-live communities, surrounding neighborhood environmental factors which are required by the oldest-old should be identified through the in-depth survey afterwards.
