The study looked over Korean journal articles, thesis, or dissertations related to the language development of the children from multicultural families. In detail, the study analyzed the general characteristics of the researches regarding the children's language development, the characteristics of the components related the children's language development, the influencing factors regarding the children's language development, and the comparison of the language development between children from general families and children from multicultural families. There were difficulties to summerize the characteristics of the language development of the children from multicultural families due to the different subjects and research methods from each research. Even though these difficulties, the general results follows. First, the study analyzed 32 researches. These researches were published since year 2004, and most of the researches were published since year 2007. Second, the study looked over the characteristics of language components, especially, phonological awareness, semantic development, phonology development, and morphology development.
