The purpose of the study is to present the standards of assistive technology competencies for special educators who teach students with physical disabilities and to analyze the questions about assistive technologies for the physically disabled in the National Teacher Selection Examination for special educators according to the standards. To achieve the purpose, we excerpted the knowledge and skill sets that are relevant to assistive technology for the students with physical disabilities from the standards of Council for Exceptional Children and obtained 14 competency items. And in order to analyze the examination question trends of assistive technologies for the physically disabled in the National Teacher Selection Examination for special educators, we investigated the examinations which have been carried out for ten times through the year 2001 to 2010. This result is compared with the obtained 14 items in order to check out that what questions for assistive technology competencies will be required for special educators of the physically disabled in the following National Teacher Selection Examination. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows. The assistive technology competencies for the physically disabled which were appeared in the National Teacher Selection Examination were focused mainly on the knowledge of assistive devices for students with physical disabilities. Based on this result, we suggested that the 14 competency items should be utilized to serve as guidelines in the process of making questions in the following National Teacher Selection Examination for special educators.
