This study was conducted in order to examine how the social participation of integrated class students with disabilities is influenced by their interpersonal relation characteristics and their perceived relation with class teacher. In this study, data were collected through integrated class teachers’ observation of 245integrated class students with disabilities at elementary schools in Daegu,Gyeongsangbuk‐do, Ulsan, Busan, and Jeju‐do. Research instruments used in this study were the Interpersonal Relation Scale by Cairns et al. (1995), the Teacher Relation Perception Scale by Cook (2001), and the Social Participation Scale by Koster et al. (2008). According to the results of this study, the social participation of integrated class students with disabilities was affected significantly by their interpersonal relation characteristics. On the other hand, their perceived relation with class teacher was also in a correlation with the students’ social participation. Moreover, the interpersonal relation characteristics of students with disabilities had an effect on their perceived relation with teacher and on their social participation, and perceived relation with teacher was also found to be an important variable related to the social participation of students with disabilities. In conclusion, for successful integrated education, educational and administrative support to integrated class teachers should be provided sufficiently prior to legislative support to integrated education.
