이러한 점에서 <조카>에 수용되어 있는 요괴퇴치 이야기는 삼촌에 대한 적대적 대결에서 승리하는 조카 이야기와 같은 의미를 지닌다고 할 수 있다. is a Josunjok long folk tale which is composed of 9 types of stories. Its main plot is about the conflicts between the Samchon (uncle) and his nephew and nephew's victories on his uncle. Some stories were on direct fights between them, some others were on indirect fights via monsters and his three cousins (Samchon's three sons). This tale shows many aspects of opponent relation between Samchon and his nephew; for example, his nephew, Ohbooksun, stole Samchon's horse and sold it out; he killed foxes and monsters; he humiliated his three cousins one by one. The second story did not seem to have any direct relation to the fight against his uncle. But if you interpret foxes and monsters as the symbols of wickedness which agonize the weak, you could regard them in the same light with Samchon who had distressed his nephew.
