In this article I investigated into the bibliography and the linguistic phenomena of Aegukka which is published at Honolulu of Hawaii in the year 1916.
The best noticeable in the bibliography of this book is that this book is seem to be published on the ground of Changgajip which is published at Hanyeongseoweon in the year 1915. The most valid evidence of this deduction is that the prefaces of two books are very similar.
The orthography of this book followed The Orthography of Hangeul enacted by Research Institute of Hangeul(1909) which was not be used concealed by The Orthography of Hangeul for Primary School which is enacted by the Joseonchongdokpu. I guess that this was possible because this book was published not inside but outside.
The linguistic phenomena of Aegukka is generally conservative. It is probably the characteristic of the words of song. The conservation of the grammar and words shows the linguistic phenomena which is not productive but possible. It is charming task to the researcher of language. I present some phenomena which is more noticeable among the facts those are discussed in the main subject. In this book the palatalization was not widely reflected to orthography. And according to voiced glottal fricative by phonological variation is reflected to the orthography, ‘-fio’ which is an allomorph of ‘-ko’ seems to be likely basic form, but it is not the reflection of actual linguistic performance. Conjunctive ending ‘-tø’ is represenred to ‘-itø’. This seems to be the result of confluence of ‘-otø/utø’ to the intermediating vowel according to the loss of the functuion of ‘-o/u’. It is very noticeable that the ending ‘-ta’ maintains the sense of ‘though’. ‘-ilsjera’ means not [misgiving] but [assertion]. This is exceptional in the view of the present age, but it is rightful in the view of morphological structure. The fact that ‘toita/toijta(=topta)’ appears and adverb ‘kath/kat(kachi)’ appears is very noticeable in the view of the history of vocabulary.
