This thesis is the study on Myth and Oral epic of Yi peoples. Specially, this is focused on ‘the mytheme of tiger's dead body become nature’ in Muige, creation epic of Chushung Yi peoples. Yi peoples in Xiaomaidichong of Yunnan Province have held an annual festival, the Tiger Festival. In this festival, eight tigers are following the Rode(Yi peoples language), that is ‘the head of tiger’. By the way the Rode is a gourd that a tiger's face was painted. This Rode is a guide of eight tigers and their dance. Why? Through the analysis on the Muige, I made a hypothesis : ‘the mytheme of tiger's dead body become nature’ is not an original mytheme of Muige, but this mytheme was included in Muige after Yi peoples' migration from north China to today's Yunnan province, after the beginning of agriculture and after the opening of Tiger festival. So the Rode, the progenitor gourd was made in tiger dance of Chushung Yi peoples.
