The purpose of this study was to conduct a meta-analytic summary of the relationship between leadership style and the level of satisfaction. This study reviewed 25 researches about leadership in sport area and analyzed the relationship between leadership style and type of satisfaction. Overall, it showed a positive effect with an effect size of .281. Subgroup analyses revealed that a larger effect was found in individual athletes than team sport athletes, and younger than 20 years olds than over 20 years olds. In terms of leadership style, effect size was large in the order of charismatic leadership, transactional leadership, and transformational leadership. In terms of satisfaction type, effect size was large in the order of satisfaction with athlete, coach, environment, and exercise. Amateur players were found to have higher satisfaction level than professional players. The limitation of this study and direction of future studies were discussed.
