The purpose of this study was to develop an ubiquitous based mentoring(u-mentoring) method for enhancing the early childhood preservice teachers’ teaching practice. To develop the u-mentoring method, a basic method was constructed on the basis of literature review on teaching practice and mentoring and then was applied to teaching practice process for one month. The participants of this study were 22 preservice teachers and two mentor professors in early childhood education dept. of A university in Busan, Korea. 10 students were placed in the experimental group and 12 students were placed in the control group. The experimental group members used ubiquitous based communication instruments(smart pad and smart phone) in their teaching practices in order to help intellectual need such as teaching planning, implementing, and evaluation and to support emotional need such as teaching practice anxiety and difficulties of relationship among teachers. The data were collected through pre-post questionnaires, u-learning SoCQ (Stages of Concern Questionnaires), teacher interview, group interview, researcher journal, student practicing journal, and blog data, and were analyzed. The results indicated that the u-mentoring method consisted of four area such as supervising contents, management methods, mentor-mentee roles and interaction structure, and communication method and supporting technology.
