The aim of this article is to introduce a teaching program for the nurse's handover communication. The goal of handover communication is not only to transfer correctly and clearly the informations about the patients but also to build the cohesiveness and to promote the solidarity among the team members. For this goal the handover communication should be two-way exchange of information between outgoing and oncoming staff. In addition, the team members should respect, support and empathize with each other. This article will show how the dialog pattern, the communicative norms, and the evaluation sheet of the handover communication containing the elements of the two-way and emphatic communication can be used in the teaching handover communication.
